About Us
....who we are, what we do
Mountain Industries Pty Ltd is a diverse, dynamic, and rapidly growing company, headquartered in Newcastle servicing customers throughout eastern Australia. Founded and based in Leura New South Wales in 1982, Mountain Bulk haulage Pty Ltd, as the company was known then, was initially focused on the provision of bulk haulage for the rural industries of central New South Wales.

This early foundation rapidly expanded to service a much greater area, providing logistics and bulk handling solutions to an ever increasing customer base. To further enhance the services provided, depots were established at Forbes, Mudgee and St Marys, with specialised grain storage and handling facilities built at Forbes and St Marys.

In the late 1980s the company’s head office was relocated to Newcastle, finally settling on a large industrial site adjacent to the Port of Newcastle in 1992. The Kooragang island site has been developed since then, now providing undercover and open air storage for a range of industrial clients. These customers rely on Mountain Industries to provide just-in-time delivery of critical components which are stockpiled on Mountain Industries’ site, adjacent to the Port of Newcastle. As an extension of the management of logistics, Mountain Industries has become involved on site with a number of industrial clients, providing bulk handling and industrial service support.

To further enhance Mountain Industries’ ability to manage inventory for their growing customer base, weighbridges with inventory control systems and 24 hour access have been installed at every site.

Mountain Industries today consists of a number of divisions including; bulk and general haulage utilising both company trucks and a large subcontractor fleet. Storage, particularly for grains, fertilizers and minerals, industrial services and rail operations.
