Freight
  ....road, rail and sea

Road
Based in the Hunter Valley, our area of operation currently extends from South Australia to Far North Queensland, in support of commercial, industrial and rural based customers. The Mountain Industries fleet includes a variety of standard bulk transport vehicles as well as general purpose, pressure and liquid tankers. This fleet is augmented by sub contractors, some of whom have been with the company fifteen or more years.

The fleet is licensed under EPA requirements and a number of drivers hold dangerous goods licences and Maritime Services Identification Accreditation.

Our company philosophy is to provide a timely well managed service compliant to all Legislative requirements. Through cooperative participation, we support our customers in the overall “chain of responsibility” process.

Our industry accreditation through “Trucksafe” ensures that we maintain externally audited standards of Management, Maintenance, training and driver health
.

Rail
Mountain Industries operates rail sidings at Kooragang Island and Forbes. In both cases, these sidings are serviced by regular rail schedules to and from Port Botany and cater primarily for the movement of containerised freight. Services are not restricted to containerised freight and any type of freight can be moved in or out of any destination in Australia.

All the required handling equipment is available as well as open and covered areas for packing and unpacking containers at our intermodal terminals. The Forbes depot is designed for the storage, value adding and containerisation of grain and rural produce for export.

Sea
The Kooragang Island depot is conveniently close to the Kooragang Island wharf thus making it an ideal location for the loading and unloading of ships. Containers and bulk cargoes can be handled by Mountain Industries through the port of Newcastle.

The export or import of containers from Sydney can be arranged by road or rail from and to Port Botany. All the required handling equipment is available as well as open and covered areas for packing and unpacking containers at the Kooragang Island depot.
