Bulk Storage
Both covered and open air storage for mineral and carbonaceous products are available at the Kooragang Island depot. Carbonaceous products can be stored in lots up to 50,000 tonnes. A full range of equipment is available for the handling of bulk products including facilties for loading into containers.

Bulk products are managed onsite with a certified weighbridge and computerised stock management and control systems.

Loading to and unloading from ships berthed at Newcastle port wharves can be conveniently undertaken using fleet and sub contractor vehicles. Similarly for bulk product arriving by rail at the Mountain Industries Kooragang Island rail siding.

Grain Storage
Mountain Industries has two locations for the storage of grain - Forbes and St Marys.

The Forbes depot can hold 24,000 tonnes of grain in aerated silos, the St Marys depot also has aerated silos but with slightly less storage capacity of 23,000 tonnes.

Both depots provide registered public weighbridge facilities and full computerised inventory systems. Also each complex is AQIS accredited for export requirements.

Containers can be packed with grain at the Forbes depot, loaded directly onto trains for national distribution or internationally via Port Botany.

Fertilizer Storage
The Forbes Depot has storage space for 10,000 tonnes of fertilizer with all the necessary infrastrucure for management, transportation and distribution.

Warehousing
Warehouse storage and management is available at our Kooragang Island site. This service can be integrated with our other services to provide a total logistics solution.
